Warner Bros Games Undergoes Strategic Restructuring Ahead of Company Split
Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) has implemented a significant reorganization of its gaming division, sharpening focus on four flagship franchises: Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mortal Kombat, and DC properties. The restructuring brings key leadership changes, including Yves Lachance's promotion to oversee Harry Potter and Game of Thrones titles, while Shaun Himmerick will steer Mortal Kombat and DC game development.
The MOVE comes as parent company Warner Bros Discovery prepares for a corporate split, with its streaming and studios divisions remaining under the existing structure. "We're optimizing our team to build long-term franchise roadmaps that resonate with players," said JB Perrette, CEO of Global Streaming & Games, signaling a deliberate pivot toward leveraging established IP.
